Class Retainers for Draw Steel

While the party may be the heroes of their story, they are by no means the only ones fighting against the wicked and vile! A retainer can join the party from a number of origins. An assassins guild might send one of their spies with the party following a successful negotiation — but only for one job. After fending off an encroaching thorn dragon, a wode elf scouting party might allow one of their number to travel with the party as thanks. 

The Draw Steel core rules introduce a number of retainers — mostly aligned with a specific ancestral or species faction. This document expands those options by introducing 26 new class retainers representing every subclass in the core rules and presenting a modular ancestry system that allows you to create a retainer for any ancestry–class combination in the core rules. Optional rules include advice for giving treasures to retainers and applying weapon kits.
